Several buyout candidates the Chicago Bulls must consider

In this story:
Since the Chicago Bulls’ failed to do anything at all at the trade deadline last week, their next chance to add players to a roster decimated by injuries will come through the buyout market. The Bulls have plenty of options, but the team may be better off considering these players.
Evan Fournier
Once banished to the New York Knicks’ bench by coach Tom Thibodeau, the French wingman finally found freedom after he was traded to the Detroit Pistons. However, experts believe he won’t stay there for long as his age (31) doesn’t fit the Pistons’ youth movement. Should Fournier be bought out, the Bulls is a squad that may benefit from his perimeter shooting and shotmaking skills.
Before Fournier got buried in the Knicks’ rotation, he was considered one of the NBA’s most reliable scorers, averaging 16.2 points on 45 percent shooting for the Orlando Magic. Fournier is also a 37.8 percent shooter from long distance for his career, which will be useful, especially when the Bulls utilize their double-big attack.
“The swingman’s defense can leave a lot to be desired, but he does possess solid size at six-foot-seven and plays with decent hustle. I could see a world where he bolsters a banged-up Chicago team that needs more bench scoring. Not to mention, he already has great chemistry with Vooch!” Elias Schuster of Bleacher Nation wrote.

Furkan Korkmaz
Another wingman the Bulls should monitor is Turkish shooter Furkan Korkmaz, who the Philadelphia 76ers recently waived. Although the 26-year-old has struggled to find his shooting stroke in the last three seasons, making only 31 percent of his long-range shots, his accuracy from 2020-2021 (39%) suggests he could still be a valuable asset for a team in need of outside shooting.
“Again, he’s still just 26 years old and has shown flashes of sharp shooting and ball-handling. There remain a lot of questions about his defensive mobility, but Korkmaz isn’t the worst flyer for a team like the Chicago Bulls. Heck, if he shows up and plays well, they’ll likely be able to sign him to a super cheap deal this offseason,” Schuster shared.
