The report reveals the Chicago Bulls need multiple first-round picks even to consider parting with Caruso

The Milwaukee Bucks’ dismissal of head coach Adrian Griffin could be the spark that green-lights more transactions as the franchise tries solidifying its roster for what it hopes would be a fruitful run at another NBA title. With the Bucks’ defense in dire need of improvement, it’s no surprise that they’ve immediately plunged into the trade market to find potential targets.
One of those targets is Chicago Bulls guard Alex Caruso. According to a report from Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer, it would take an arm and a leg to pry the defensive ace away from the Bulls.
Dream outcome
There’s a reason why Caruso is on every team’s wishlist, with the trade deadline nearing on February 8. The 6-foot-5 is one of the best defenders in the league, capable of staying in front of elite players either in the backcourt or backcourt.
Additionally, the former Texas A&M standout is as low-maintenance as they come, content with doing the little things that don’t show up on SportsCenter highlights, be it draining an open three-pointer or tipping a loose ball to a teammate.
Fischer wrote that Caruso is a “dream outcome” for the Bucks, as he would seamlessly slot in at the two-guard spot next to two-time MVP and former Defensive Player of the Year Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Caruso’s defensive prowess complements Antetokounmpo’s already dominant presence, and his versatility on the offensive end would also give the Bucks another reliable scoring option. But as Fischer noted, acquiring Caruso will take work for Milwaukee.

An offer worthy of the Bulls’ attention
Caruso is a prized member of the Bulls’ organization, beloved for what he brings to the floor and off of it. As such, Fischer wrote that any potential trade with the Bucks would have to be an offer too good for the Bulls to pass up on.
“Alex Caruso would mark a dream outcome for the Bucks, but Chicago has indicated the Bulls would need multiple first-round picks to even consider parting with Caruso, according to league sources, if Chicago even truly considers moving him at all,” Fischer wrote.
