Donovan Mitchell On The Winning Side Of The 2023 NBA All-Star Game

Team Giannis won the 2023 NBA All-Star Game and Donovan Mitchell played a big part in the victory.

The Cleveland Cavaliers only had a single player represent them in the 2023 NBA All-Star Game. That was Donovan Mitchell who was voted to be one of the starters in the game as well.

He was drafted by Giannis Antetokounmpo to be a part of his team and Mitchell didn't disappoint his captain. Giannis also hilariously referred to Mithcell as "Mr. 71" when he drafted him and something tells me that's a nickname that's going to stick after tonight.

At the end of the night, it was Team Giannis who end up defeating Team LeBron with the final score being 184-175.

Even though Mitchell was the only player from the Cavs to play in the game, he represented the city and team well and had a massive impact on the game. He finished with 40 points, shot 60 percent from the field, 47.1 from behind the arc, and even dished out 10 assists as well.

His 40 points are even the most points scored by a Cavalier in the All-Star game in history.

On a stage filled with plenty of star power and highlights that'll be on repeat for days, Mitchell was able to have a lasting effect on the game and had his moment to shine. This came in the third quarter when he caught fire while wearing a mic for the broadcast.

He also received a warm welcome from the Utah crowd. Mitchell spent the first five seasons of his career playing for the Jazz and those fans made sure he knew that they appreciated everything that he did for them during that time.

The NBA All-Star game is always a blast to watch and this year was no exception. It's even better when you get to watch a player from your favorite team put on a show and that's exactly what Donovan Mitchell did for Cavs fans.
