Veteran big man Boozer announces retirement

Thirteen-year veteran Carlos Boozer has officially retired from the NBA.

Boozer played his college ball at Duke and was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round of the 2002 draft.

After spending just two years with the Cavs, Boozer signed with the Utah Jazz in the summer of 2004 and had his most productive years in the Salt Lake City alongside Deron Williams.

The big man was a Jazz for six seasons and averaged 19.3 points and 10.5 rebounds.

Boozer then signed a lucrative five-year, $80 million free agent deal with the Chicago Bulls in 2010. He was usually the punching bag for Bulls fans during the Derrick Rose years and lost his fourth quarter minutes to Taj Gibson.

Boozer was amnestied by the Bulls in 2014 and he finished his NBA career playing one season with the Los Angeles Lakers. He holds career averages of 16.2 points and 9.5 rebounds and went to the All-Star game two times.
