The Boston Celtics have dealt with a plethora of injuries so far this season and they keep coming.

The Celtics have been without the services of both starting point guard Marcus Smart and center Robert Williams as they both deal with ankle ailments. Williams only missed Boston's last contest -- an overtime thriller against the Los Angeles Lakers -- while Smart has missed the team's last four games.

Boston interim head coach Joe Mazzulla gave injury updates at the team's shootaround on Tuesday morning for both Williams and Smart.

"Getting better," Mazzulla said. "Rob is just continuing to work on his ankle, we'll see how he goes. With Smart, it is a matter of the swelling in his ankle and range of motion so he's continuing to get better and better.

When asked whether or not Williams could potentially take the court with the Celtics on Wednesday night against the Brooklyn Nets, Mazzulla provided some hope but didn't completely reveal the big man's status."

"There's always a chance," Mazzulla said.

Boston has been no stranger to playing shorthanded this season but hopefully will get at least Williams back when it welcomes the Nets to town Wednesday and Smart back in the very near future.
