2026-27 Clippers Roster: Contracts, Salaries, Options and Depth Chart

The Los Angeles Clippers have entered a new era this summer. They are now focused on the future rather than the present after ending the Kawhi Leonard era. The trade to the Raptors has yet to be finalized, but signs are pointing towards the 35-year-old superstar ending up in Toronto sooner rather than later.

Where does that leave the Clippers? Let's take a look at the contracts on their books, future financial flexibility, and the state of their roster to get a better idea of where they are as a franchise.

This obviously assumes that the Leonard trade will go through. If the trade is rescinded, Ingram and Dick will come off the books and be replaced by Leonard's expiring $50.3 million salary for next season.

Clippers Cap Space and Tax Situation

League salary cap: $164.9 million
Luxury tax threshold: $200.4 million
Clippers cap space: $2.6 million

The Clippers are $38.1 million away from paying the luxury tax, $46.7 million away from the first apron, and $59.4 million away from the second apron. This is a very good financial situation to be in.

The Clippers can open up to $4.8 million in cap space if they let Cam Christie walk instead of guaranteeing his 2026-27 salary. They could fill Christie's roster spot by signing a player using that cap space or any of the exceptions below.

Clippers' Exceptions

The Clippers have $1 million of their non-taxpayer mid-level exception after spending most of it on Rui Hachimura. They still have their bi-annual exception worth $5.4 million for next season. They also have three traded player exceptions:

$17 million from the John Collins trade
$2.6 million from the Kobe Brown trade
$1.3 million from the Ivica Zubac trade

LA can use any of these exceptions to bring in a player without giving up anyone in return.

Possible Extensions

Darius Garland, Derrick Jones Jr., Kris Dunn, Gradey Dick, and Cam Christie are all eligible for an extension this offseason.

Besides Dunn and Jones Jr., it's unlikely that the Clippers will sign anyone to an extension. Dunn and Jones Jr. may also be traded instead of getting signed to new deals.

This can all change between now and the start of the season. In fact, no one is guaranteed to start other than Garland and Ingram. Expect a fluid starting lineup and rotation from head coach Ty Lue, especially early in the season.
