The LA Clippers have not made their trade for James Harden yet, but it seems like they're continuing to push for new ways to trade for him. It seems very apparent that the Clippers don't want to trade Terance Mann, and they're finding alternative methods.

According to the newest report from Adrian Wojnarowski on ESPN, the Clippers are gauging the value of their 2028 unprotected first-round pick with other teams to try and get multiple first-round picks to give the Philadelphia 76ers.

"The Clippers have spent the last couple weeks talking to teams around the league about their own 2028 unprotected first-round pick and potentially maybe another pick swap they have to see what value that has with other teams. Where teams who who have lots of first-round picks or star hunting, think that has great value in a trade. Can they get two first-round picks for that? Can they get maybe one unprotected, one protected pick? Because teams might gamble that they don't think the Clippers will be very good in 2028. That pick could have a lot of value. You talk to those teams, they expect the Clippers now to very soon to go back to Philadelphia, to go back to Daryl Morey, and run some of these scenarios by him and see if any of these trades interest them. Where some collection of those picks is valued more by Philadelphia than just that 2028 pick."

Daryl Morey wants to take whatever picks that the LA Clippers give him and flip it for another All-Star level guard according to Wojnarowski. With all of this in mind, it wouldn't be surprising for this James Harden to take a very long time to happen. The catalyst will be when the Clippers can find a suitable third team to get multiple picks from. Until then, it's going to most likely be a slow burn.
