NBPA Makes Strong Reaction to James Harden's Massive Fine

As James Harden attempts to get from the Philadelphia 76ers to the LA Clippers, the star guard recently called Daryl Morey a liar. The NBA quickly responded to these public comments with a $100,000 fine for Harden, which the NBPA issued a strong response to.

Following the NBA's announcement that Harden was fined $100,000, the Player's Association issued a statement that read, "We respectfully disagree with the league's decision to discipline James Harden for recent comments he made, which we believe do not violate the rule against public trade demands. We intend to file a grievance and have the matter heard by our Arbitrator."

For clarity, this was the NBA's official statement that caused the NBPA to respond:

"The NBA announced today that Philadelphia 76ers guard James Harden has been fined $100,000 by the NBA for public comments on August 14 and 17 indicating that he would not perform the services called for under his player contract unless traded to another team. The league's investigation, which included an interview of Harden, confirmed that these comments referenced Harden's belief that the 76ers would not accommodate his request to be traded."

It's very unclear exactly how this Harden situation will play out, but as of right now the 76ers are planning to bring him into training camp despite his strong desire to be traded.
