BREAKING: NBA Announces Discipline for Dillon Brooks

In this story:
After being issued a flagrant 2 foul for his below the belt shot to Daniel Thais, Houston Rockets forward Dillon Brooks was ejected from his first game since leaving the Memphis Grizzlies. Playing less than five minutes in his Rockets preseason debut, Brooks was ejected, and has now been fined $25,000 by the NBA, per an official announcement from the league.
In their announcement, the NBA wrote, "Houston Rockets guard-forward Dillon Brooks has been fined $25,000 for recklessly making contact with Indiana Pacers center Daniel Theis in the groin area, it was announced today by Joe Dumars, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations. The incident, for which Brooks was assessed a Flagrant Foul 2 and ejected, occurred with 7:27 remaining in the first quarter of the Rockets' 122-103 win over the Indiana Pacers on Oct. 10 at Toyota Center in Houston."
Because of the reputation he established during his time with the Grizzlies, Brooks is not going to receive the benefit of the doubt when plays like this happen. Ejected and now fined for the play, Brooks was certainly not let off the hook for the foul against Thais.
Speaking with reporters after the game, Brooks said he felt he often gets targeted by officials, which could play into some of their decisions; however, any groin area contact is going to be looked at closely by the league.
