Dillon Brooks Puts Opponents on Notice With Strong Statement

In this story:
Team Canada has been looking good in FIBA World Cup play so far, and has been getting some nice contributions from former Memphis Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks. Never afraid to speak his mind, Brooks put his opponents on notice with bold comments following a big victory over France.
"This was the beginning of starting who we are as a country, as a team," Brooks told Sportsnet's Arash Madani. "Putting the world on notice that we're not playing. We missed a couple of World Cups, but we're ready to go, we're ready to play. It's no joke. We're playing with that same intensity and the fire every time we come on the floor."
Canada just crushed France, 95-65, to open this FIBA World Cup.

The last answer here from Dillon Brooks, who was such a huge part of it with his defense and energy and physicality, is telling.
Brooks BELIEVES IT when he says, "We put the world on notice... It's no joke." pic.twitter.com/73e5wADeWO
Brooks is an intense player, and always makes it known when he and his teammates are confident. Doing this several times as a member of the Grizzlies, Brooks has remained vocal this summer as he and Team Canada look to compete for a medal in this summer's World Cup.
Canada has a very talented roster, led by All-NBA first team guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Complimenting Gilgeous-Alexander with several high-level role players, Canda has a cohesive group that believes they can play with anybody in this World Cup. As Brooks stated, Canada isn't here to play around. This is a team with a lot of belief, and they showed why with their win over France.
