Knicks Player Reveals Derrick Rose's Reaction to Being Benched

In this story:
After playing 80 games for the New York Knicks in the 2021-22 season, Evan Fournier found himself out of the rotation last season, appearing in just 27 games. Recently revealing his frustration with that development, Fournier also spoke on a moment he had with Derrick Rose on the bench, when the two veterans asked each other, "What the hell are we doing here?"

While Fournier is still under contract with the Knicks, Rose departed in free agency this summer, signing a deal with the Memphis Grizzlies. While Rose might not play a ton with the Grizzlies, he does project to have a bigger role than he did last season with the Knicks, especially with Ja Morant suspended for the first 25 games.
While Rose's reaction to being benched in New York was one of frustration, this is not something he showed much publicly. Still maintaining a positive attitude, especially towards the fans, Rose was loved in New York. Always receiving an ovation from the crowd whenever he would check in, Rose had the support of Knicks fans, even if he wasn't playing very much.
Now with the Grizzlies, Rose will fill an important role both on and off the court. Expected to get rotation minutes in Morant's absence, Rose will also be leaned on as a veteran locker room presence for a younger group.
