Warriors Player Reveals Conversation With Ja Morant

In this story:
Memphis Tigers guard Kendric Davis had a workout with the Memphis Grizzlies and considered signing a deal to join their Summer League roster, but ultimately agreed to an Exhibit-10 deal with the Golden State Warriors.
During his press conference with Golden State, Davis revealed a conversation he had with Grizzlies star Ja Morant, saying, "When he had his little mental lapse, I was on him hard. I told him you've got to grow. You got to become a man."

Davis played 34 games for the Memphis Tigers last season, and averaged 21.9 PPG, 5.4 APG, and 3.7 RPG on 41.4% from the field and 34.6% from deep. Davis was somewhat of a journeyman in college, playing one season at TCU, three seasons at SMU, and his final season at Memphis. During his time in college, Davis had four All-AAC selections, an AAC Tourney MVP, and a 2021-22 AAC POY award.
While Davis is young, he had advice for Morant that was rooted in care and concern for the Grizzlies guard. This is a consistent message that has been shared by several people around the league, as everybody wants to see Morant get back on track after his second gun video incident.
Set to miss the first 25 games of the season due to his suspension, Morant will have time to work on himself before returning to the court.
