Miami Heat's Erik Spoelstra Provides Injury Status For Gabe Vincent The Remainder Of Eastern Conference Finals

The Miami Heat will evaluate guard Gabe Vincent's ankle injury on a day-to-day basis

Miami Heat guard Gabe Vincent has been ruled out of Game 5 against the Boston Celtics with an ankle injury.

Here’s what Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said about Vincent’s injury:

“He went through his routine and workout this morning, just wanted to get ahead of it," Spoelstra at the morning shootaround. "He is feeling better, but just not good enough to play an Eastern conference finals game. But that’s why the guys respect him so much, he was doing everything he possibly could to try and get out there.”

Vincent is averaging 13.1 points, 1.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 15 postseason starts. The Heat are 18-5 in the playoffs when Vincent is the starting point guard. Veteran Kyle Lowry most likely fills in Vincent’s spot Thursday night.

“We’ve had a bunch of other guys step up, and that’s what we need tonight,” Spoelstra said. “It’s great to have a Hall of Fame quarterback step in.”
