The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to keep their two star players happy for at least one more season. LeBron James and Luka Doncic will be on the roster for at least one more season together.

After being the third seed in the Western Conference, the Lakers believe they have a shot to win a title now that Doncic will be with the Lakers for an entire season.

Los Angeles signed Doncic to a three-year extension worth up to $165 million. While attending a Saturday morning press conference announcing the extension, Doncic was asked if he believes the current roster can win it all.

When asked if Doncic thinks the Lakers can win the championship, he believes they can get it done.

“Honestly, I think we have a great team, we have what we need to compete for a championship," Doncic said. “I’ll bring whatever I can to try to win every game, no matter what. We have some new great guys on the team. We’re going to go for it.”

One of the keys to the Lakers getting a shot to compete for the title is Doncic staying in better shape and playing some better basketball on the defensive end of the court.

Los Angeles is hoping that the additions they made will help them make a deeper run in the playoffs than the first-round flameout they had this past season.

Adding Deandre Ayton and Marcus Smart were the two biggest additions. Ayton gives them a viable starting center, while Smart should help the perimeter defense.

Of course, both players have to prove that they can stay healthy. Both players have had some issues staying on the court for enough games to make a real impact in the last couple of seasons.

Yet, Doncic being on the same court as one of the greatest players to ever play the game of basketball gives them a chance to win the title on their own.

After arriving in Los Angeles, Doncic averaged 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 7.5 assists per game. He shot 43.8 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from beyond the 3-point arc.
