Lakers Notes: All-Star Wants to Join LA, Ex-Laker Takes Major Shot at LA, More

In this story:
The Los Angeles Lakers have made it clear they are looking toward their future with superstar Luka Doncic, who signed a three-year, $165 million maximum contract extension last weekend.
As the Lakers move forward with Doncic, four-time NBA champion LeBron James has found himself at the center of trade rumors for what could be the final season of his career. A recent trade proposal would send James alongside his son, Bronny James, to another Western Conference team.
But James is reportedly content with the Lakers franchise, despite rumors that he was not satisfied with the decisions their front office has made this offseason. The Lakers will now look to build around Doncic.
Los Angeles can make two moves involving Austin Reaves and Jarred Vanderbilt that would clear enough cap space to sign All-Stars Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo as free agents in summer 2027. Additionally, another All-Star and former teammate of James wants to join either the Lakers or the Los Angeles Clippers in free agency.
