Rockets' Extend Win Streak to 10 in Overtime Victory vs. Thunder

It took an additional five minutes, but the Houston Rockets extended their win streak to 10 following an overtime win against the Thunder.

The Houston Rockets extended their winning streak to 10 following a 132-126 overtime victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder inside the Paycom Center.

The Rockets improved their record to 12-1 in March following the win. And with the Golden State Warriors winning their respective game against the Orlando Magic, Houston remains one game back for the 10th and final spot for the Play-In Tournament.

Jalen Green finished the night with his seventh consecutive game of scoring 25 points or more. He scored a game-high 37 points on an efficient 14 of 24 shooting, 7 of 11 from behind the arc. He also pulled down nine rebounds while adding seven assists, two steals and a block in the win.

Green's play against the Thunder was a sample size of his All-Star-caliber performance over the past month. He came into the night averaging 14.0 points during the previous three games against the Thunder.

All five starters scored in double-figures for Houston. Amen Thompson recorded his ninth career double-double with 25 points and 15 rebounds. Jabari Smith Jr. scored 16 points amid his return from a one-game suspension. Dillon Brooks added 20 points, scoring eight in overtime.

The Rockets came out firing on all cylinders. They jumped out to an early 11-2 lead following a layup attempt by Thompson. As a result of the Thunder's offensive struggles, Houston held a 28-17 lead entering the second quarter.

The Rockets' lead extended to 14 points by the 11:46 mark of the second period. Unfortunately, Oklahoma City began to find its stride. The Thunder scored 33 points during the quarter, as the Rockets trailed 50-49 at the half.

Josh Giddy led the Thunder amid the absence of league MVP candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. He scored a season-high 31 points on 12 of 20 shooting and seven rebounds. He scored 15 points during the third quarter, which led to Oklahoma City holding an 85-80 lead entering the fourth and final period.

In addition to Giddy, the Thunder had five players who scored in double-figures in the loss. Jalen Williams added 23 points and 10 assists, while Isaiah Joe scored 17 points off the bench.
