The San Antonio Spurs are expected to have one of the top picks in the 2024 NBA Draft due to their disappointing record in Victor Wembanyama's rookie season, and if the Toronto Raptors fall outside of the top six in the Draft Lottery, the Spurs will end up with two lottery picks.

With their eye on adding the best possible talent, plenty of backcourt players have emerged as potential draft picks for the Spurs. Nikola Topic, Stephon Castle, Reed Sheppard, and Rob Dillingham are among the premier guards in the class. With young talent hoping to fall into the best possible devolpmental spot, the tandem of Wembanyama and Gregg Popovich stands above any other destination.

"It would be amazing," said Dillingham on ESPN when asked about the possibility of starting his career in San Antonio. "There is nothing [Wembanyama] can't do. Playing with him, it's like if he has the ball in his hands two people got to guard him. Really playing with the whole team and learning from Popovich, the whole team, and playing with Wemby I feel like would be an amazing opportunity for sure."

Dillingham is a projected top-10 pick with massive upside. He can work as a facilitator and also create for himself off the dribble. He is an excellent athlete who hasn't developed a reliable jump shot yet, but there is the assumption that his outside shooting will improve. He has drawn comparisons to Lou Williams.

While his Kentucky Wildcats got bounced in the first round by Oakland University, Dillingham finished his freshmen season averaging 15.2 points, 3.9 assists, shot 49.5 percent from the floor and 44.4 percent from deep in limited attempts.

While the Spurs haven't established themselves as winners yet in the Wembanyama era, they are becoming a destination for draft prospects and free agents alike, who want to improve their skills under the greatest coach ever and next to the greatest prospect ever.
