Suns Collapse, Can't Handle Heat in Loss to Miami

The Phoenix Suns lost a 13-point lead in the fourth quarter during their Monday night loss to the Miami Heat.

The Phoenix Suns will sure be glad to return home.

On their fourth and final game of a seven-day road trip, the Suns ran out of gas after being up by as much as 13 in the fourth quarter in their 113-112 loss to the Miami Heat on Monday night.

Chris Paul and Landry Shamet were absent yet again as the Suns pack their bags and return after going 1-3 on the road against a lineup consisting of Philadelphia, Minnesota, Orlando and Miami.

The comeback was spurred by a 14-2 Miami run in fourth quarter after an exciting game that saw both teams battle from start to finish. The Heat snapped a four-game home losing streak to the Suns with their win on Monday.

The Suns, led by Devin Booker's 25 points, had six players reach ten points or more on the night. The performance of Duane Washington Jr. off the bench (21 points, four assists) nearly matched his career-high in scoring.

Phoenix shot just four free throws to Miami's 25.

A Kyle Lowry three with 1:38 left in the game gave the Heat their first lead since the opening of third quarter. Jimmy Butler blocked a potential game-winning shot from Booker, forcing a scramble and another desperation shot which ultimately fell short at the buzzer.

The Suns return home to face the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday.
