Bradley Beal Out; Devin Booker Doubtful vs Jazz

The Phoenix Suns will likely be without their two stars in their home opener against the Utah Jazz.

PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Suns are likely to be without the talents of Bradley Beal and Devin Booker for their home opener against the Utah Jazz.

Per The Athletic's Shams Charania:

Beal has been dealing with lower back tightness since the preseason, where he only played a handful of games. Beal hasn't played in either of the team's two road games thus far.

Booker initially played in the season opening win over the Golden State Warriors but was ruled out with what the team called "left foot soreness" after missing the preseason finale with a toe injury.

NBA on TNT's Jared Greenberg revealed Booker's foot injury is actually a sprain and he's expected to miss multiple games.

His update on Thursday:

"Devin Booker is out tonight due to a left mid-foot sprain which he suffered during Tuesday’s win at Golden State. A team source tells me Booker is aiming to return to action Tuesday pending the results of an MRI which he will receive when the team returns home."

The Suns undoubtedly missed Booker/Beal in the lineup despite clinging to a double digit lead in their eventual loss to the Lakers. Kevin Durant scored 39 points as the lone member of Phoenix's Big 3, and he'll be expected to shoulder a similar load on Saturday.

Playing at the Footprint Center for the first time in 2023-24, the Suns hope to rebound from their loss and push their record to 2-1 on the season.
