Suns Introduce New Ring of Honor

The Phoenix Suns introduced a new and improved Ring of Honor, and franchise legends such as Steve Nash and Charles Barkley gave some words to the crowd.

PHOENIX -- It's a pretty damn good night to be an Arizona sports fan.

While the Arizona Diamondbacks secured a crucial Game 2 win in the World Series, the Phoenix Suns are in the midst of wrapping up a much needed bounce-back win against the Utah Jazz in their home opener at the Footprint Center.

At halftime, owner Mat Ishbia helped introduce a new and improved Ring of Honor, welcoming all members to halfcourt and awarding them with special watches.

In all, over 60 former players were invited to the game and were highlighted by the Suns before the ceremony began, with most of them enjoying action from a suite.

After legends such as Charles Barkley and Steve Nash spoke to the crowd, the Suns officially unveiled their permanent banners atop the rafters, where each person will be immortalized moving forward:

Players in the Ring of Honor include: Alvan Adams (33), Charles Barkley (34), Tom Chambers (24), Walter Davis (6), Connie Hawkins (42), Kevin Johnson (7), Dan Majerle (9), Steve Nash (13), Dick Van Arsdale (5), Paul Westphal (44) and Marion (31, who will be inducted on Dec. 15) and Amar'e Stoudemire (32, who will be inducted on Mar. 2).

Other prominent Suns figures inducted are Jerry Colangelo, Cotton Fitzsimmons, John MacLeod, Al McCoy and Joe Proski.

Stoudemire will be the 17th player officially in the Ring of Honor.
