Report: Suns Not Budging on Jae Crowder's Price Tag

Yahoo!'s Jake Fischer says the Suns aren't budging on the price for power forward Jae Crowder.

The Phoenix Suns have been trying to offload power forward Jae Crowder for months with no successful bites.

That hasn't stopped some developments from happening, however. The Washington Wizards reportedly engaged in trade talks with the Suns while Phoenix has also tried to facilitate three-team deals with the Utah Jazz and Atlanta Hawks but ultimately went nowhere.

The Suns are currently struggling, having lost their last seven-of-eight games and are still without Devin Booker for the foreseeable future. Crowder still holds a roster spot and fans would like to see that filled sooner rather than later.

It's evident Phoenix hasn't had an offer that's met their standards, and it appears as if the Suns aren't willing to budge on the price to move Crowder.

In a report from Yahoo! NBA insider Jake Fischer going through different trade options for the Cleveland Cavaliers, he goes through the potential of a Crowder to Cleveland deal:

"A smaller salary player, such as Jae Crowder, would seem to make sense on the surface, although Phoenix has stood its ground on Crowder, sources said, demanding a playoff-caliber player in return. If the Cavaliers had one available on the roster, this Cleveland discussion wouldn’t exist," Fischer said.

"The Cavs have never been linked to the disgruntled Suns forward, and Cleveland’s growing salary bill will further force the small-market Cavaliers to spend wisely on whichever extensions they do ultimately doll out to contributing rotation players.

"Crowder, remember, is seeking a multi-year extension along the lines of PJ Tucker’s recent three-year, $33 million deal with the Sixers."

We're still a month and four days away from the trade deadline, and it is worth noting that center Deandre Ayton does become trade eligible on Jan. 15, though he has the right to veto any trade this year.

Crowder, who turns 33 in the offseason, is in the final year of his deal.
