Suns Rival Engaged in Talks for James Harden

In this story:
We're just a week removed from the start of the NBA's regular season, and most of the dominoes have fallen in what's been another wildly hectic offseason from start to finish.
The last big move those in the basketball world have been anticipating is a trade involving James Harden, currently with the Philadelphia 76ers but has been determined to find a new home.
That new home could be a familiar foe for Phoenix Suns fans.
The Athletic's Shams Charania reported the Los Angeles Clippers remain "engaged" in talks for Harden. Looking to add another star between Paul George and Kawhi Leonard to keep up in a stacked Western Conference.
Charania: "The Los Angeles Clippers and the Philadelphia 76ers remain engaged in talks surrounding a trade for star guard James Harden a week ahead of the start of the regular season, league sources said."
More info from the report:
- "Harden has not attended any of the 76ers’ three preseason games, has skipped a shootaround and has only participated in one five-on-five live competition in the two weeks since training camp began, per the sources."
- "Harden wants to be traded to the Los Angeles Clippers and is slated to be a free agent next summer."
- "It’s been a turbulent offseason for Harden and the Sixers, during which he called president of basketball operations Daryl Morey a 'liar' and vowed to 'never be a part of an organization that he’s a part of.'"
The Clippers would undoubtedly get a boost on their roster and perhaps felt the need to make another splash following the arrival of Bradley Beal to the Valley. Phoenix's big three of Beal, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant has looked strong in preseason action thus far.
It certainly seems like it's only a matter of time until Harden is officially on the move, and the Clippers are the clear front-runner.
