Injury Report: Karl Anthony-Towns' Status vs. Warriors

The Minnesota Timberwolves are listing Karl Anthony-Towns as questionable

The Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors are set to face-off in a crucial Western Conference matchup on Sunday night. The Timberwolves have some major injury storylines to follow, and most notably with big man Karl Anthony-Towns. The Timberwolves are listing Towns as questionable for this game, as he is dealing with a right calf strain.

Towns has already missed a significant amount of time with this calf strain, and just recently made his return to the lineup. With this being the front half of a back-to-back, it seems likely that Towns will only play one of Minnesota's next two games. Considering the standings, it seems most reasonable to have Towns play tonight against the Warriors, as opposed to tomorrow against the Kings.

Minnesota enters play on Sunday 1.5 games back of the Warriors in the Western Conference standings, which makes this game incredibly important. While every game is important for the Timberwolves right now, this game against the Warriors could go a long way towards deciding who gets the sixth seed and who gets the seventh seed. This game is equally important for Golden State, as they have not created enough separation between themselves and the play-in tournament to feel comfortable just yet.

With Towns being listed as questionable, the Timberwolves will provide an update on his final status for this game shortly before tip-off. Needless to say, this is an important storyline to follow.
