The Golden State Warriors and Miami Heat are set to face off on Thursday night, and star forward Jimmy Butler was initially listed as questionable on the injury report, but has since been ruled out. Butler is dealing with a left calf strain that has sidelined him now for four games.

While the Warriors are coming off a Christmas Day loss to the Denver Nuggets, they are still playing better as of late, having won five of their last six games. This has been one of Golden State's more encouraging stretches of the season, as it's been a very up and down year for them so far.

This game against Miami projects to be a tough one, as the Heat are currently 18-12, but this of course changes a bit with Butler being ruled out. Butler missed Miami's Christmas game against the Philadelphia 76ers, which was the third-straight game he had missed.

Miami has actually gone 3-0 in their last three games without Butler, which includes impressive wins over Philadelphia, Orlando, and Atlanta. With a solid team up and down their roster, the Heat are of course much better with Butler, but are still very capable without him.

The Warriors will have to be prepared for Miami even without Butler, as they need every win they can get at this point.
