Golden State Warriors guard Gary Payton II has missed the last two games with a left foot injury, but the versatile guard could be nearing a return. Speaking with reporters at Tuesday's practice, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr revealed that Payton went through a scrimmage, and is questionable for Wednesday night vs. the Phoenix Suns.

This is a big injury development, as both Payton's participation in the scrimmage and his questionable status indicate a return is near. The Warriors put out a statement on Payton's injury just a few days ago that read the following:

"Warriors guard Gary Payton II, who exited Thursday's game with 9:30 remaining in the second quarter due to a left foot injury, underwent an MRI. The MRI did not show any structural damage and confirmed the injury as a strained muscle in his left foot. Payton will not play in tonight's game against Oklahoma City and will be re-evaluated over the weekend."

All signs point towards Payton having made positive progress since this initial encouraging update that revealed no structural damage was found in his foot. A key piece to what the Warriors do on both ends of the floor, Payton should be back in the rotation soon - and possibly even by Golden State's next game.

This matchup vs. the Suns will be a great test for a Warriors team looking to find their groove.
