BREAKING: Lakers Fear 'Extended' Injury Absence for LeBron James

In this story:
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James suffered a right foot injury in Sunday's win over the Dallas Mavericks, and there is now fear that the injury could sideline him for an extended period of time. In a report from The Athletic's Shams Charania, it was announced that the Lakers fear an extended injury absence for James.
"Sources: There's fear Lakers star LeBron James is likely to miss an extended period of time with his right foot injury. James suffered the injury in Sunday's win over Dallas, played through it, and belief is he will be sidelined an indefinite amount," Charania wrote.
In a follow-up Tweet, Charania added, "James miraculously played through the injury that is now expected to require multiple opinions, sources said, and the Lakers are bracing for his absence to be multiple weeks."
This is a major blow for a Lakers team that had begun to find their groove after a successful trade deadline. James has been playing well all season, and had finally gotten some help around him with the additions of new trade deadline pieces. Still on the outside of the play-in picture, the Lakers are not in a position to sustain an extended absence from their best player.
The Lakers are set to face the Golden State Warriors in a pivotal seeding game on March 5th, but it now seems as if James will not be available for that game.
