BREAKING: Steph Curry Targeting Injury Return vs. Lakers

Having been sidelined for the last 10 games, Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry is nearing his return. It was reported by Chris Haynes during the TNT broadcast of Thursday night's Clippers vs. Lakers game that Curry intends to return on Sunday vs. the Lakers if he experiences no setbacks.

Curry was reevaluated on Wednesday, and the team released a stamenet that read, "Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, who has missed the last nine (9) games after suffering partial tears to his superior tibio fibular ligaments and interosseous membrane, as well as a contusion to his left lower leg on February 4 vs. Dallas, was recently re-evaluated. He is making good progress and has recently increased his on-court workload to include scrimmaging. Curry's return-to-play will be based on his continued progress and response to full practice and scrimmages after missing nearly a month of game action."

The Warriors revealed in that statement that Curry was making good progress, and it now seems as if that progress will allow him to return as soon as this weekend. The Warriors have jumped to the 5th seed in the Western Conference during his absence, largely due to the failure of teams around them, but they have positioned themselves nicely for his looming return.

If everything goes as planned, it looks like the reigning Finals MVP will be back on the court thus Sunday.
