BREAKING: Warriors Champion Announces Retirement From NBA

In a post from the Utah Jazz on X (formerly known as Twitter), former Golden State Warriors forward Otto Porter Jr. announced his retirement from the NBA.

The statement from Porter read, "For the past 11 years, I had the chance to live my lifelong dream of playing in the NBA. That dream was capped by winning an NBA Championship! Unfortunately, my body is not allowing me to play at the level that I expect of myself, and I have therefore decided to retire."

In an official press release, the Jazz added the following:

"Porter Jr. (6-8, 230, Georgetown) played 11 NBA seasons with the Washington Wizards (2013-19), Chicago Bulls (2018-21), Orlando Magic (2020-21), Golden State Warriors (2021-22), and Toronto Raptors (2022-24). Drafted in the first round of the 2013 NBA Draft (third overall) by Washington, Porter Jr. competed in 527 career games (319 starts) with averages of 10.3 points on 47.7 percent from the field and 39.7 percent from three, along with 4.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.1 steals in 25.4 minutes per game, helping Golden State to a championship in 2022."

Porter was a key member to Golden State's 2022 championship, and was touted as a possible buyout signing for several contenders before this news. Announcing the end of a very solid NBA career, Porter will always be a champion in Golden State.
