Draymond Green Gets Brutally Honest About Relationship With Chris Paul

In this story:
In a recent interview, ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk sat down with Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green to discuss several topics, including Chris Paul. According to Youngmisuk, Green wasn't thrilled about the Paul trade at first.
"When Green heard from the Warriors that they were considering adding Paul, the team's emotional leader admitted he wasn't thrilled. He needed time to wrap his mind around the possibility of teaming up with a 'hated' foe," Youngmisuk wrote.
This wasn't speculation, but rather Green's words. When asked how much he previously despised Paul, on a scale of 1-10, Green told Youngmisuk, "Eleven! I hated him. Eleven! But I think that's also a sign of respect."
While that was undoubtedly the case prior to Paul joining Golden State, things have smoothed over since the veteran point guard's arrival. As Youngmisuk added in his piece, Green and Paul have spoken with each other several times, and are excited to get to work. While there will be an adjustment period on the court, much like there was off the court, there is a lot of optimism about what this pairing can accomplish this season.
"We've kind of gotten over that hump now," Green told Youngmisuk. "But then there'll be another hump of actually playing together that'll take some getting used to. But I'm excited about it."
The Warriors are looking to avenge their disappointing 2022-23 season, and Paul is still looking for his first championship. With all sides motivated to accomplish the same goal, the Warriors could be a force this season.
