Grant Williams Responds to Draymond Green's CBA Criticism

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green recently criticized some of the new CBA rules, particularly the minimum game requirement for season awards, saying, "I can appreciate this and everyone will appreciate this until you got bums on the All-NBA team winning awards and winning awards because someone didn't qualify because they missed 10 games at some point of the season with an ankle injury."

Green continued, saying, "All of the sudden, you don't have any of those guys on the All-NBA teams, and then what NBA teams are we representing? When you look back at history and you got a bum on the All-NBA second team? All-NBA first team? Because guys missed some games, it won't be so appreciated then."

Green also slammed some of the new salary rules in a Tweet, saying, "Players lose again. Smh! Middle and Lower spectrum teams don’t spend because they don’t want to. They want to lose. So increase their spending capabilities, just to increase them. They continue to cut out the middle. And this is what we rushed into a deal for? Smdh! Never fails."

Boston Celtics forward Grant Williams is the Vice President of the NBPA, and recently discussed Green's comments in an interview with HoopsHype.

"I don't think that [Green] fully understood the actual breakdown, and I think as the details start to come out more and more he’ll have a better understanding," Williams said. "He read it off of statements that weren’t fully put out yet and still even the full CBA hasn’t been released yet. So I think as time goes on, he’ll realize that the statement that he made may not have been factual. He’ll have a better understanding and a better feeling about the CBA that’s coming out."

It will be interesting to see if Green changes his stance on some things once the full CBA is made public.
