Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson is expected to play his first back-to-back

Set to play his first back-to-back since returning from injury, Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson could not be more excited to face the LA Clippers on Tuesday night. Growing up watching his dad play in Los Angeles, Thompson has countless childhood memories in the city he will play in tonight.

Steve Kerr did not officially rule Thompson in for Tuesday night’s game when asked about the possibility of Klay playing his first back-to-back, but Kerr did say that is the current hope. Thompson was more direct when asked about it, saying he expects to play and is incredibly excited to do so.

Still hitting milestones in his return from two major injuries, Thompson’s comeback has been a true inspiration. He has had big time moments for the Warriors this season, several of which have come with Steph Curry sidelined, meaning the Warriors needed even more from Klay. While it is reasonable to expect some sort of minutes limit for Thompson in this game vs. the Clippers, just seeing him out on the floor in consecutive nights is something Warriors fans will be excited about.

This game has massive seeding and tie-breaker implications, as the Warriors could jump the Clippers in the standings with a win, while also securing at least a split of the season series. A win for the Clippers would create some momentary separation from Golden State in the standings, while leveling the season series at one win a piece.

This should be a fun one in Downtown LA.
