Brian Keefe Earns First Win With The Wizards

Brian Keefe Gets His First Win Of The Season

It is safe to say the Brian Keefe era has officially begun. He has filled in and begun his role as the Interim Head Coach of the Washington Wizards the morning of a game day for the team. It was just Friday morning when the team announced that Wes Unseld Jr will be moved into the front office. Brian Keefe didn’t have much time to prepare this team as the Interim Head Coach so of course that resulted in a loss to the Utah Jazz on Friday night.

Now that he had a moment to get somewhat comfortable, Brian Keefe and the Washington Wizards picked up their first win of the season together as they defeated the Detroit Pistons 118-104 on the road. That is quite impressive considering the fact that they loss to the Pistons in their last meeting.

This game brought a lot of excitement and hope for the Wizards. One thing to note is the alpha of this team was clearly identified as Kyle Kuzma today. He took a team high 27 shots today. Kuzma has been the best player on this team. He has shown his dominance on both sides of the floor all season long including today.

The next thing to note is the balanced scoring from the rest of the team. This even goes as far as the bench. Everyone was able to make an impact and the most of their opportunities. Marvin Bagley is playing like he should be a starter. Speaking of starters, another thing to note is the shot attempts there too. Of course, Kuzma being the alpha, he took the most shots. However, everyone else in the starting lineup was able to get 10 shot attempts too besides Deni Avdija who had eight. There seems to be a well balance work load for the Wizards with Brian Keefe running the show. Everyone knows their roles.
