Washington Wizards vs. Atlanta Hawks Game Predictions

Inside the Wizards staff gives predictions and analysis for Washington Wizards vs. Atlanta Hawks

The Washington Wizards (1-2) face off against the Atlanta Hawks (2-2) at 7:30 pm EDT on November 1st, 2023 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

Ahead of the Wizards' fourth game of the NBA season, we challenged the Inside The Wizards staff to come up with some predictions and share why they believe the contest against the Hawks might go the way they think.

Of course, we'll all be 100 percent right in our predictions - even those that differ from each other - so this should be a fun experiment and measure of how each contributor views Washington basketball.

With that, let's get into the predictions.

Gage Sheets: Hawks 125, Wizards 112

Really a lot of this game will come down to the status of Washington center Daniel Gafford. Without him they have almost no answer defensively in the paint and I would expect Atlanta to be able to score down low without much resistance if he is unavailable. The Wizards do have a chance to keep the score close with their fast paced offense but I think the Hawks have too many weapons and will do enough to pull away.

Candi Waller: Wizards 132, Hawks 129

The Wizards will need to put their defensive ability to use for this one. Simply to come out on top, the team will need to outlast the Hawks and outplay defensively. It will be difficult to do that if Daniel Gafford is yet again unavailable. Trae Young appears to be listed as questionable for the match-up. If Young doesn't play, the Wizards may have a better chance of a win becoming a reality for them tonight.

David Harrison: Wizards 122, Hawks 120

This game is going to come down to injuries and who can make the biggest run at a crucial point in the game. With Gafford and Young both in doubt for this one either player missing the contest significantly reduces their team's chance of notching the win. Beyond that, I'm more confident in Washington's ability to hit a scoring streak and give them a slight edge on the road.

With that, you have our staff predictions for this game, so don't hesitate to share yours ahead of the Wizards next contest!
