Why The Wizards Aren’t Panicking With Jordan Poole

Why Aren’t The Wizards Concerned With Jordan Poole

It has been a long season for Jordan Poole thus far this season. There is a drastic change and difference in his game and performance each night from his time in Golden State to now with the Washington Wizards.

There is a saying that pressure burst pipes that is common in America. The way things are going now, it feels like it may be time to move on from this situation before the situation gets worse. However, there seems to be a bit of patience when it comes to Jordan Poole. There is no reason why he should be scoring in the single digits at any time this season. Just the other night, he scored just four points on Sunday against the Denver Nuggets. That felt like an all time low with Poole.

His season low this season was two points scored for the entire game at Cleveland against the Cavaliers. What’s alarming is he played over 20 minutes in that game. Poole has scored in single digits five times this season. Despite his struggles, the Wizards don’t seem too concerned. Well, why is that the case?

Kyle Kuzma’s name has been circulating all over trade rumors this year. Everyone is interested in Kuzma. He is playing at an All Star level so it makes sense. The Wizards have put him in position to succeed. They really have raised his trade value tremendously. They will get a lot back in return for him if he is traded. While they are down playing any interest in moving on from Kuzma, that tells you there that they have a lot of interest in trading him.

Once he is moved, we can expect the same workload that Kuzma is getting now to be handed to Jordan Poole. We can expect a high production from him then with the added volume of work and opportunity. The Wizards are hoping Poole can and will play better with a larger role. However, that will remain to be seen even if Kuzma stays or is traded away from the Washington Wizards.
