Wizards Hoping To Beat The Odds Tonight Against Cavs

In this story:
As many may already know, there is no place like home. That is especially true in the NBA. Home court advantage and playing on your own floor in front of your own fans is huge for anyone in any professional sport. It is especially true for the NBA and their role players. Tonight, the Washington Wizards return from their mini West road trip to take on a team that has had their number all season long, the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Wizards recently moved Jordan Poole to the bench and it hasn’t been a terrible move to say the least. It is expected of him to continue to come off the bench and tonight is the first time he gets to experience it on his home floor in D.C.

The Bottom Line
If the Washington Wizards want to catch the Cavs off guard and protect their home court, they must play together. They lack the physical capability to contend with a guy like Jarrett Allen. They will need to do their best to keep him off the boards. That means they will have to play smart. If they can’t get the rebound over Allen, they can try to tip the ball to a teammate so they can grab the rebound. If they want to attack the basket and get some easy buckets, they need to utilize the high screen and rolls. Tyus Jones has been phenomenal at creating open shots for his teammates. He needs to put his imprint in this game too. Jordan Poole will need to continue to adjust, accept, and excel at his new role off the bench. Lastly, Kyle Kuzma must be the Kyle Kuzma many have gained their trust in all season long. Those are the keys to winning this game for the Washington Wizards tonight.
