Fantasy Football: Week 6 RB Rankings

RB Start of the Week: Mark Ingram, Baltimore Ravens (vs. CIN)

If there’s any concern with Mark Ingram this week, it’s that the Ravens could establish an early lopsided lead that allows them to rest their top back in the second half. Based on implied totals using Vegas odds, however, no team is projected to score more points than the Ravens.

Expecting positive game script as a double-digit home favorite, Baltimore should have no trouble running the ball against the Bengals. Only the Dolphins have allowed more rushing yards per game or fantasy points to opposing running backs this season.

Ingram has rushed for 372 yards (5.0 YPC) and six touchdowns this season and added nine catches for 67 yards. The veteran back had a pair of monster games—more than 100 rushing yards with multiple scores—earlier in the season and has scored the sixth-most fantasy points through Week 5.

This week’s soft matchup against the Bengals is a smash spot for Ingram.

RB Sit of the Week: LeSean McCoy, Kansas City Chiefs (vs. HOU)

LeSean McCoy is averaging 5.4 yards per rush this season, but the veteran back failed to get a single carry in Week 5 against the Colts. McCoy had two catches for 23 yards, but he lost a fumble as well. With Damien Williams returning from a two-week absence, Williams led the backfield with nine carries and 12 touches.

Even though they faced Alvin Kamara, Christian McCaffrey, Leonard Fournette, etc., the Texans have yet to allow a 100-yard rusher this season. Houston has allowed just 95.0 rushing yards per game this season.

With a healthy Kansas City backfield, it’s difficult to trust McCoy this week as anything more than a flex option even though there are four teams on a bye.
