Jets to Sign Longtime Packers WR Randall Cobb, per Report

The Jets are reuniting new quarterback Aaron Rodgers with one of his longtime receivers.

New York has come to an agreement with wide receiver Randall Cobb on a one-year deal, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Cobb, who spent 10 out of his 12 professional seasons playing with Rodgers and the Packers, will now play another professional season with the star quarterback. This will be the fourth different team Cobb has played for in his career, following two separate stints in Green Bay, one year in Dallas and one year in Houston.

Cobb has been a model of consistency as a slot receiver over the course of his career, hauling in 625 receptions for 7,585 yards and 53 touchdowns in his 12 years as a pro.

Last season with Green Bay, Cobb hauled in 34 catches for 417 yards and one touchdown, while averaging 12.3 yards per reception.

Cobb becomes the second former Packers receiver to join Rodgers with the Jets after the team signed Allen Lazard to a four-year deal at the start of free agency.
