Cowboys ‘In The Mix’ With Two Other Teams to Sign Ezekiel Elliott, per Report

After the initial stretch of 2023 NFL free agency, as former Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott remained unsigned, fans began to ramp up the noise ever so slightly. Many wanted the team to re-sign Elliott to reunite the “thunder and lightning” duo of their former first-round pick and explosive young runner Tony Pollard.

But over time, the buzz faded and training camp got underway. Fortunately for those pushing for a reunion, it appears the Cowboys haven’t closed the door on Elliott and could be one of three teams in the mix to sign the 28-year-old, according to The Athletic’s Jeff Howe.

The Patriots have remained highly interested in Ezekiel Elliott, and the Cowboys are also in the mix to re-sign the 28-year-old, according to league sources. The New York Jets have also been in on Elliott.

In the same article, Howe points out that the Jets also have shown “heavy interest” in another free agent running back, Dalvin Cook. This quickly became apparent with Cook’s visit with the team and appearance at training camp.

Regardless, it will be interesting to see where Elliott and Cook sign for the upcoming season.
