Brock Purdy has cleared concussion protocol and will lead the 49ers back out on the field on Sunday.

49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has cleared concussion protocol and is in line to start for San Francisco on Sunday against the Bengals.

Purdy played through the entirety of last week's game against the Vikings on Monday night, but started showing concussion symptoms on the 49ers' flight home, and was on the team's injury list all week.

Purdy's availability means that backup quarterback Sam Darnold will likely have to wait a bit longer before he sees his first game action for San Francisco.

Through the end of last season and into the beginning of this year’s campaign, Purdy had won the first 10 regular season starts of his career, but has since dropped two straight games against the Vikings and Browns.

San Francisco enters Sunday's clash against Cincinnati as 5.5-point favorites to win at home.
