Tyreek Hill Had Such a Classy Take on Why He’d Be ‘Happier’ If Tua Tagovailoa Won NFL MVP Over Him

Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill has popped up as one of the NFL MVP favorites this season.

However, the award has never gone to a receiver in NFL history. When asked recently if he thinks he could win the 2023 award, Hill admitted that “it’s a quarterback award. We all know that.”

Hill would rather see his quarterback Tua Tagovailoa win the award over himself as he continuously hypes up Tagovailoa this season. The receiver reiterated this sentiment when speaking with reporters Friday.

“If Tua won it, I’d be happy,” Hill said. “I’d be happier if Tua won it. I feel like I’ve gotten everything I want. I get a chance to play the game that I love. God has blessed me with that. But obviously, winning the award would be icing on the cake. But God has blessed me with just everything I’ve got.”

According to SI Sportsbook, Hill has +1300 odds to win the MVP, while Tagovailoa holds +800 odds.

On top of being an MVP favorite, Hill is on pace to set a different NFL record this season. If he totals 2,000 receiving yards, he will break the record for the most receiving yards in a single season. The record is currently held by Calvin Johnson with 1,964 yards during the 2012 season. Hill has 1,481 yards through 12 games.
