Julian Edelman Reveals NSFW Advice He Got From Michael Jordan Before Super Bowl XLIX

Every now and again, the internet gets treated to a new Michael Jordan story.

While on his Games With Names podcast, former Patriots wideout Julian Edelman was reminiscing about how his squad made Super Bowl XLIX after the 2014 season, and recalled how he saw both Jordan and Derek Jeter a week before the big game against the Seahawks

Edelman remembers Jeter being “charming” and the two talking but Jordan was “standoffish” and didn’t say anything to him—until he gave him some pointed advice.

“As soon as the conversation’s about to end, like five minutes in, I’m about to leave, Jordan comes up to me and he goes, ‘Hey kid, I got a bunch of money on you. Don’t f--- it up,’” Edelman recalled. “And that’s the only thing he said to me.”

It’s unclear how much Jordan bet on the big game, but he definitely cashed in.

New England came away with a legendary 28–24 victory over Seattle thanks to cornerback Malcolm Butler’s iconic interception at the goal line when coach Pete Carroll controversially elected to pass the ball instead of run it for the win.
