Rich Eisen Theorizes NFL Has Preference for Bill Belichick’s Next Coaching Destination

While speculation swirls around the future landing spot of former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick, one of the most prominent voices covering the NFL has weighed in.

While appearing on The Dan Patrick Show this week, NFL Network’s Rich Eisen posited that the league would be in favor of the highly acclaimed leader taking over as coach of the Washington Commanders.

“Put him in the money division,” said Eisen. “Have him take on the Giants, his old team, twice a year. Have him hooked up with a generationally talented quarterback at this stage of his career in the same way Gregg Popovich has been hooked up with Wembanyama at this part of his career.”

Eisen believes the NFL would be very happy to see Belichick land in NFC East next season.

“Let him go against Dallas twice a year, on Thanksgiving once in a while, let him go into Philadelphia, and try and bring the Commanders back to prominence in late windows on Fox as much as possible,” added Eisen. “If you’re the league, I think that’s where you would pinpoint his location.”

Likely the biggest NFL headline this offseason will be the six-time Super Bowl champion coach finding his new home.
