Mics Picked Up Roquan Smith, C.J. Stroud Having Comical Moment During Ravens’ Win Over Texans

Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud played with the poise of veteran during his rookie season—and it turns out he can talk trash like a vet, too.

Baltimore Ravens middle linebacker Roquan Smith was wearing a microphone for last weekend’s divisional round matchup between the two teams, and the mic picked up a whole bunch of top-notch audio.

The best bit was the interaction between Smith and Stroud. After Smith chased Stroud out of bounds on a scramble, Smith told him, “You better get your ass.”

“You wanna hit me so bad,” Stroud replied.

“You know it,” Smith shot back.

“I was ready,” Stroud said coolly.

It was Stroud’s first playoff game on the road, and while he didn’t have his best game (just 175 passing yards), trading barbs with Smith showed that he wasn’t going to be intimidated by the moment.

The Ravens won the game handily, 34–10, but no one could put a finger on Stroud. Baltimore led the NFL with 60 sacks this season, and Stroud was among the most-sacked QBs in the league with 38. But he wasn’t sacked at all against the Ravens.
