Chiefs’ Travis Kelce Wanted All the 49ers Fans Booing on Media Night

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce doesn’t just hear the boos from opposing fans; he embraces them. Monday night’s Super Bowl LVIII opening night of media coverage brought plenty of noteworthy moments, and Kelce making sure to get San Francisco 49ers fans riled up was among them.

During an on-stage interview alongside San Francisco tight end George Kittle, Kelce spoke as booing flooded the stadium. Kansas City’s star paused and looked into the crowd before responding perfectly.

“Y’all are firing me up, making me want to play right now, baby,” Kelce said, per the NFL. “I love the boos more than I love the cheers baby, keep ’em coming Niners Gang, keep ’em coming!”

Not surprisingly, 49ers fans proceeded to boo Kelce more and even louder immediately after. The 34-year-old will hear plenty of it from fans of the NFC champions on Sunday, Feb. 11, when the Super Bowl gets underway at 6:30 p.m. ET.
