Kyle Shanahan has no Right to be Snarky When he's Questioned About Quarterbacks

In this story:
Quarterback has been an unstable position for the 49ers under Kyle Shanahan.
That is why they are constantly tied to quarterback rumors, reports, and why the backup position is such a hot topic. It can become a tiresome aspect to look at over and over again, but this is the bed that Shanahan himself has made.
He once again opened himself up to scrutiny with quarterback when the 49ers traded Trey Lance to the Cowboys. It essentially meant that Shanahan was waving the white flag on Lance, which means he either misevaluated him or failed at developing him. Shanahan deserves to have everything regarding the quarterback position questioned. He is entering his seventh season with the team and still has yet to find a solution at the most important position in football.
Questioning and doubting him is more than valid. However, Shanahan doesn't receive the questioning too well and instead gets snarky anytime he is asked about the handling of the quarterback position. That happened on Wednesday when a reporter asked him to acknowledge how weird the position has been over recent years.
"I think anytime you trade up to the third pick in the draft and it doesn't work out, that's a weird situation," said Shanahan. "But that is the situation. So that's what happened. I don't think it's that weird. It's unusual that it doesn't work out, but I wouldn't think that's weird. I think that's unusual. What do you think?”
Shanahan has no right to be snarky when he's questioned about the quarterback position.
Everything has been his doing and is under his watch. It is not just about recent years, but since he started his tenure with the 49ers as head coach. He moves off of quarterbacks so quickly and lacks any patience. If a quarterback isn't instantly ready now, then he has no care. That is why he moved off of Lance. He either didn't want to try to develop him or he completely was off on the player that he could be.
Either way, it's the Achilles heel of Shanahan. He struggles with evaluating and developing quarterbacks. It's fair to question and view him on that now after Lance didn't pan out. All Shanahan's snarky responses show is how insecure and arrogant he is. He thinks he is above questioning with his plan as if he is some sort of genius with the position. If he had a good track record with evaluating quarterbacks and developing under his watch, then sure he can be snarky.
But he doesn't.
The fact that he continues to sustain winning seasons with the 49ers is probably why he feels he's above the questioning. It's impressive that he can keep the 49ers as one of the better teams in the league despite having instability at quarterback. Most teams would falter easily, which is why his job is safe.
But the reality is he isn't above the questioning and the criticism. It's not like he is whiffing on a wide receiver or a linebacker. He's whiffing on the MOST important position in football, which also happens to be the reason why the 49ers have failed in their quest for a Super Bowl under him. Questioning Shanahan should continue until Brock Purdy proves he is the "real deal" as he claims.
