Watch: Ja'Marr Chase Describes His Favorite Route to run Following 2023 NFL Season
CINCINNATI — Yahoo! Sports's Matt Harmon chatted with Ja'Marr Chase during Super Bowl week this year as the All-Pro talent dove into his favorite route to run on the field.
The out route holds a special place in Chase's heart.
"I probably say the out route for real," Chase noted. "Because it just gives me the opportunity to run a go ball if I get press (coverage). So it's like a two-way go."
Chase has shown to be a creative and sound route runner in a bunch of different alignments. It's earned him more freedom in the offense.
"I feel like you get more freedom the more plays you make," Chase said. "And the more they (Bengals coaches) trust you, because they still don't trust me in the slot yet. That's why I haven't played it so much."
Chase will surely keep sharpening those slot skills this offseason as he's eclipsed a 23.4% slot snap rate in consecutive seasons after spending 18.4% of his snaps there as a rookie.
