Bengals' Decision About Tee Higgins' Future Looming Large With Franchise Tag Window Almost Open

Will the Bengals place the franchise tag on Tee Higgins?

CINCINNATI — Will the Bengals place the franchise tag on Tee Higgins?

The 25-year-old is set to become a free agent next month, but all 32 NFL teams can officially use the tag on Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET. The Bengals have until March 5 to officially tag the star wide receiver.

The franchise tag would keep him in Cincinnati for the 2024 season. He would make roughly $20.7 million on a one-year contract. The Bengals would have until July to negotiate a long-term extension with Higgins.

The tag window opening means veterans like Christian Wilkins and Justin Madubuike could be tagged by their respective teams.

If the Bengals decided not to tag Higgins, he would join Mike Evans and Calvin Ridley as the top wide receivers on the free agent market.
