Bengals Showing Interest in Multiple Tight End Prospects From Smaller Schools Ahead of 2023 NFL Draft

Tight end is considered one of the deepest positions in this year's draft class.

CINCINNATI — The Bengals have showed plenty of interest in tight ends ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft. They met with Michael Mayer, Dalton Kincaid and Sam LaPorta at the NFL Combine.

They've also talked with Josh Whyle and other possible mid-round targets.

The Bengals are also looking at some back of the draft or priority free agent options.

They're bringing in Louisiana tight end Johnny Lumpkin for a pre-draft visit according to Megan Glover of KATCTV3 in Lafayette.

Lumpkin had 16 receptions for 143 yds and four touchdowns last season. He also participated in the East-West Shrine Bowl.

The Bengals also invited Eastern Kentucky tight end Dakota Allen to their local Pro Day later this month according to NFL insider Aaron Wilson.

Allen had 26 receptions for 353 yards and three touchdowns for the Colonels last season. He's a Lebanon, OH native, which is 33 miles north of Cincinnati.

Both Lumpkin and Allen are projected to be late round selections or undrafted free agents.
