Chidobe Awuzie Signing 3-Year Deal With Tennessee Titans
CINCINNATI — Chidobe Awuzie is reuniting with former Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan in Tennessee. The veteran cornerback is signing a three-year contract with the Titans according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
The contract is worth $36 million with $23 million guaranteed according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
Awuzie is a proven veteran that should instantly help Callahan establish a winning culture in Nashville. The former second round pick signed a three-year, $21 million contract with the Bengals ahead of the 2021 season.
Awuzie quickly established himself as the Bengals' No. 1 cornerback and helped them reach Super Bowl LVI. He tore his ACL against the Browns on Oct. 31, 2022. He appeared in 15 games for Cincinnati last season, but didn't reach his pre-injury form.
The veteran is a nice buy low candidate. If he regains his pre-injury form, the signing will pay off for the Titans. The Bengals play the Titans in Nashville next season.
