Cincinnati Bengals Placing Franchise Tag on Tee Higgins

The 25-year-old wide receiver will stay in Cincinnati this season.

CINCINNATI — The Bengals are franchising tagging Tee Higgins according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The team let the star wide receiver know that they would be tagging him on Friday.

Higgins will make $21.8 million on a one-year deal in 2024 unless the two sides can agree on a long term extension.

NFL insider Tony Pauline is reporting that the Bengals are hoping to sign the 25-year-old to a long term extension.

The Bengals had until March 5 to use the tag. Now they'll have until July to agree to a new contract.

Higgins has 257 career catches for 3,684 yards and 24 touchdowns in four seasons with the Bengals. Cincinnati took him with the 33rd overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
